Dr. John Walton Hall

John Hall is a senior nurse leader with over 35 years of experience in the health sector. He is a registered Mental Health Nurse and Nurse Prescriber, with extensive experience in managing forensic services, including all ranges of secure mental health settings and high secure prisons, as well as the Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder service in HMP Frankland.
John has recently served as the Regional Director of Nursing in the UK, overseeing 22 hospitals and 48 community services. His role encompassed all aspects of care delivery across mental health, learning disabilities (LD), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), rehabilitation services, eating disorders services, and Acquired brain injury services. Additionally, John has been an advisor in the Royal College quality networks, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining high standards in healthcare.
Before joining Cygnet, John spent four years in Dubai at Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital for Maudsley Health, where the team advised the Ministry of Health and Prevention on the development of mental health services and worked as an operational senior manager.
His prior experience also includes a decade of work in commissioning and case management with NHS England and North-East Specialized Commissioning, where he was involved in assurance and delivery at both national and regional levels. John holds a master’s degree in leadership and management from the NHS Leadership academy and has developed and delivered a broad range of education to all allied health professionals. John has contributed to the development of standards in secure mental health, perinatal services, mental health and deafness, IAPT, learning disabilities, CAMHS, and community services through his work with the Royal College of Psychiatry.
John is currently the Director of Nursing at Sakina, where he is focused on developing and enhancing mental health services in the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain regions. He has a keen interest in research and development, aiming to push the boundaries of mental health care through innovation.
Dr. Yousef Aljawarneh

Dr. Yousef Aljawarneh is an Assistant Professor and Program Chair for Nursing and Midwifery at Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE. Dr. Aljawarneh holds a PhD degree in Nursing (Adult and Acute Care) from the University of Texas, USA. and has worked as an academic and a clinician for over 20 years. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, UK), and has extensive teaching experience, having taught undergraduate and graduate students at several national and international institutions.
Dr. Zahraa Alyahyaee
Embryology Manager
Dr. Zahraa Alyahyaee is an experienced clinical embryologist currently serving as the Manager of Embryology at Corniche Hospital Fertility Centre. With over 18 years of experience in reproductive medicine, she has contributed significantly to the field of embryology through both her clinical expertise and academic research. Graduated with a Bachelor of Biological Sciences majoring in Genetics, Cell biology and Development from the University of Minnesota, USA and a Master of Science in Clinical Embryology from the University of Oxford. Research interest was pursued further with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Reproductive Science and Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Oxford where she focused on studying immune factors influencing early embryonic development, implantation and placentation. Throughout her academic journey, she has received several prestigious awards and scholarships. She has also been an active member of key professional societies such as the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology. Her research contributions include publications on reproductions and immune factors contributing towards the embryonic and maternal interaction and establishment of pregnancy. She is a passionate advocate for reproductive health and continues to contribute to the field through ongoing research and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in embryology.
Dr. Kawther Mahmoud

Dr. Kawther Mahmoud has more than 26 years of experience in the field of health care as a national trainer in the fields of (intensive care nursing, infection control). And a distinguished application - and it is characterized by high and influential capabilities in education and training in various nursing fields - and it possesses the ability to negotiate, persuade, change, and the ability to deal with higher and lower functional persons with propriety and the ability to communicate effectively between the different nursing categories - She is currently working - a member of the Egyptian Senate - the captain of the Egyptian Nursing General - a member of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care - and she was appointed as the nursing officer in the Arab Board and the secretary of the Arab Nurses Union Committee and deputy secretary-general of the Arab Nurses Union and delegated on behalf of the union for any necessary procedures for the benefit of the union and communication Between him and the League of Arab States and the Council of Arab Ministers of Health to take the necessary decisions in favor of the Union in January 2018 - as well as a member of the Nursing Sector Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of some colleges and nursing institutes - and Chairman of the Nursing Committee of the League of Arab States November 2017.

Her Excellency was invited to visit some educational and training places in Italy - to learn about the continuous training system and ways to raise the efficiency of nursing in Italy. Her Excellency participated in the work of laws in the League of Arab States and updated work guidelines in coordination with the World Health Organization [intensive care, reception and emergency, newborns, operations, burns, dialysis, internal departments, development of administrative skills]. She has prepared the most important books in the field of nursing, such as the Egyptian Nursing Rights Book, the Medical Terminology and English Language Book, and the Quality of Nursing Procedures Book.
Mr. Abbas Abdulhassan Anad

Currently the Acting Medical Affairs Director at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC). SKMC is a tertiary hospital with the largest ED in the Emirate (85 beds), 450 acute and critical care beds, 12 ORs, 16 outpatient specialty clinics and diabetes center. SKMC also manages 125 Behavioral science beds facility in addition to Al Rahba Infectious Disease hospital of 250 beds.
I come with years of experience in Healthcare; fifteen of these years are in senior position in healthcare quality and administration. I am a JCIA expert, EFQM, OSHAD lead auditor.
I am a holder Master Degree Quality Management (MQM), Master Degree in Clinical Psychology (MsPsy). I am an American Board of Medical Quality (CMQ) holder, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Six Sigma Black Belt Certified (SSBBC) from American Association of Quality (ASQ) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
I am a data management specialist, part of SEHA’s NIHQM (National Inpatient Hospital Quality Measures) implementation and part of SKMC NDNQI (National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators) team that has established and maintained this initiative as the first hospital in the UAE.
I spoke in, participated and led planning for many international conferences. I have created and delivered several healthcare quality courses for internationally accredited universities and centers in UAE, USA, and UK.
I have conducted and participated and published several research studies and educational booklets and guidelines.
Prof Nabeel Al-Yateem

"Dr. Nabeel Al-Yateem is an Associate Professor at the University of Sharjah's College of Health Sciences and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University in Australia. With a Ph.D. in Children and Adolescents Health Nursing from the University of Galway, Dr. Al-Yateem has extensive experience in pediatric health, research, and education. His work spans across multiple affiliations, including the Sharjah Institute for Medical and Health Research.
Dr. Al-Yateem has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to book chapters, focusing on mental health, pediatric care, and the integration of technology in healthcare. His research has been supported by various grants, including those from the Irish Hospice Foundation, Aljalila Foundation, and University of Sharjah.
In addition to his academic and research contributions, Dr. Al-Yateem serves as an editorial board member for journals such as the Scandinavian Journal of Caring Sciences and Journal of Pediatric Nursing. His dedication to advancing nursing practice and education is reflected in his active participation in international conferences and scientific committees."

Association. She was Head of the World Health
Organization (WHO)’s Collaborating Centre in
Nutrition (2012–2015) where she worked to
promote greater awareness in the prevention and
treatment of nutrition related diseases. Professor
Al Dhaheri has conducted significant research in
nutrition and has been recognized by the WHO as

Dr. Jameela Mukhaimer is the President of Bahrain Nursing Society since 2019 to 2021 invested in development of Bahrain Nursing Society and Nursing profession. Dr. Mukhaimer assistant professor at University of Bahrain in the Collage of Health sciences within Nursing and Midwifery department Ms. Mukhaimer is a member of the National Education Accreditation Committee and Vice president for NHRA Nursing Strategies Committee.
As Women Health Nurse Practitioner and Midwife Ms. Mukhaimer had focused on women health education and practice for more than 20years. Interested in women health issues and research; had several publications and participated in international conferences related to Osteoporosis and women’s Health. In addition to education Ms. Mukhaimer is practicing Midwife with variety of Community engagement activities for women health Awareness.

Dr Iffat serves as an” Assistant Professor in Public Health” at the United Arab Emirates University. She holds a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years making significant contributions in the fields of healthcare, patient services, community health education, and academia. Dr. Iffat has worked across multiple countries, fostering collaborative research on various public health and health promotion subjects. She has been listed in the top 2% cited scientists by Stanford University for the years 2022 and 2023.
Her primary research interests encompass health promotion, health education, psychosocial and mental health, cancer education, prevention of chronic diseases, women's health, and the determinants and practices of a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Iffat has garnered recognition for her exceptional contributions to research and patient support, her commitment to undergraduate teaching, and her outreach initiatives. She boasts a robust foundation in qualitative research and behavioral change theories. Additionally, she holds the esteemed title of Fellow at the UK Faculty of Public Health and is a current member of both the Australian and Emirates Public Health Associations.
Dr. Hussam Al-Nusair

Dr Hussam Al-Nusair, currently working as chief nursing officer at Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital/MOPA. Worked in nursing as CNO for over 20 years, in UK, Saudi Arabia and UAE. Hold Master Degree in Critical Care from Kings College in London, also hold PHD degree in Hospital Administration from Nottingham University in the UK. Work as the chairperson of the education committee for nursing across MOPA Initiatives Hospitals. Also, serve as a member of the advisory board of 4 Universities in UAE. Had 9 publications in Q1 Journals since year 2021.
Dr. Muna Al Saffar

Counseling (MSGC) program at the
College of Medicine and Health Sciences
at the UAE University. She is a dedicated
advocate for enhancing genetic and
genomic literacy, having actively
participated in numerous workshops and
education initiatives aimed at promoting
premarital counseling among healthcare
professionals.
Dr. Al Saffar received comprehensive training in child and adult genetics through her work at hospitals affiliated with McGill University Health Center (MUHC), including the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal General Hospital, Montreal Children’s Hospital and the Montreal Neurological Institute in Canada. The diverse experience allowed her to broaden her expertise in genetic knowledge, teaching, and research, collaborating closely with clinicians, researchers and post-doctoral fellows. Over the past fifteen years, she has also served as affiliated senior scientist with the Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts, USA. As a key member of the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research (DHFMR) from 2007 to 2011, Dr. Al Saffar played a pivotal role in identifying regional investigators collaborating with other international researchers. She was also instrumental in selecting research fellowship candidates for training and funding, and in the development of research policies and regulations. Notably contributed to the establishment of the Research Ethic Committee at Dubai Health Care City (DHCC). With over 35 years of clinical and research experience across multiple countries, including the USA, Kuwait, the UAE, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, Dr. Al Saffar has made significant contribution to the field. Her works has been published in prestigious journals such as Nature, Cell, The American Journal of human Genetics and Neuron reflecting her interests in neurogenetics, hereditary cancer genetics, immunigenetics, and genetic counseling. Dr. Al Saffar is certified by the Canadian Board of Genetic Counselling and maintains active memberships in several professional genetic organizations.

Shaikha Juma Al Shamisi
Chair of SINMAC - Al Ain Hospital
Shaikha Al Shamsi with 27 years of dedicated experience in the nursing profession, is currently serving as the Director of Nursing. Her educational background includes a Master’s degree in Management Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She is currently pursuing a PhD, focusing on the effect of technology adoption in the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi.
Shaikha has developed a comprehensive business plan to establish Al Ain Nursing Services and introduced an upskill nursing program to enhance the skills and competencies of nursing professionals. As an active member of the Emirates Nursing Association, she is committed to advancing the standards of nursing practice in the region.
Throughout her career, Shaikha has led the nursing team in the successful re-accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCIA) in 2022. She also has chaired the Scientific Nursing and Midwifery Conference (SINMAC) in 2023 and led the organizing committee for the 2024 conference. Her contributions to the field include being a speaker at the Nursing Conference in 2019 and attending various external conferences to stay updated with the latest developments in nursing and healthcare. In addition, she is a member in external and internal committees. Currently, Shaikha is working in the Al Ain region, where she continues to strive for excellence in nursing care and healthcare management.
Ratish Kumar

Ratish Kumar serves as the Corporate Senior Nursing Practice and Performance Officer at SEHA and Co-Chair of the SEHA International Nursing & Midwifery Conference. SEHA's mission is to provide sustainable, high-quality healthcare services that meet the needs of the Abu Dhabi community and enhance the overall health and well-being of the UAE population.
In his role, Ratish oversees and manages nursing practices and performance across all SEHA facilities, ensuring that the highest standards of patient care are delivered by nursing staff. He collaborates closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure nursing practices are evidence-based and aligned with the latest clinical guidelines and best practices. Ratish holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Strategy and Administration.
He is also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, a JCI expert in Tracer Methodology from Joint Commission International (JCI), a Quality Auditor from the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and a Certified Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner.

Suhad was graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology and obtained a bachelor degree in Nursing Science; she got different advanced level Post graduate diploma certificates in diabetes education from Heinrich Hein University, Germany, the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, and Fatima College of Health Sciences in collaboration with Lund University and Malmo University Sweden.At SKMC, Suhad began her patient education journey as a Diabetes Nurse Educator and advocated for patients with diabetes of all ages. She was promoted to a clinical resource nurse position and led all diabetes education activities for nurses. At the present time, she holds the position of manager for nursing education.She led different programs/projects in SKMC such as the diabetes link nurses program and diabetes education workshops for all SKMC nurses and dieticians, she initiated the community awareness in SKMC and the initiative “SKMC, We Care”. We will not forget the community awareness programs during the world diabetes day recognition that Suhad led in SKMC since she started in 2000.

Started her nursing career as a staff nurse at Al Ain hospital in 1998, where she developed her skills, enhanced her knowledge, and learned to adapt collaboration and team work. She was then promoted to SCN in 2015 and assigned in Acute Care Unit.
In March 2020, when Covid started and AAH was designated as Covid dedicated facility, she faced the unknown just like any other frontliners. As an Emirati woman, she was determined to prove that it’s important that Emirati nurses are visible and involved in healthcare management and leadership because their leadership can help improve health outcomes for Emirati patients and expats alike.
She managed Acute Care Unit with multi-national staff and always believed in diversity and equality.
Currently she is working alongside with the director of nursing in AAH, acting on her behalf during her absence, she participates and leads quality improvement projects with active involvement in the developing and implementing standards, policies and guidelines in the unit. She is directly involved in SEHA activities including workshop, conference, committees, and task force. She also leads Emirati Nursing Programme at Al Ain hospital and encourages the Emirati Nurses to participate in the programme. As a JCIA chapter lead for COP she developed policies and trained the multidisciplinary team at AAH. She was promoted to the position as nurse manager in Dec-2023 and her vision is to be a part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, to lead a world-class healthcare system and contribute to improving health outcomes and the wellbeing of UAE society.

Dr. Al-Ruzzieh is the CNO at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Jordan. Under her leadership, KHCC became the first hospital in Jordan to achieve the Magnet® Designation in 2019 and 2nd redesignation in 2024. Moreover, KHCC became the first hospital in the Middle East to receive accreditation for shared governance from the Forum for Shared Governance in 2020. Furthermore, she established the first Oncology Nursing Residency Program (ON-RP) in Jordan, which was accredited with distinction as the first of its kind in Jordan and the 2nd in the Middle East by the ANCC in 2022. Dr. Al-Ruzzieh leadership extends to directing the Nursing Research and EBP and the accredited Life Support Training Center at KHCC. She contributed her expertise as an advisory member in many national, regional and international boards such as executive board for the Jordanian Nursing Council, four esteemed nursing schools, and many scientific committees for nursing forums and conferences. Moreover she serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the Shared Governance Forum. As of January 2024, Dr. Majeda successfully completed the Person-Centered Care (PCC) Professional Certificate Program. She becomes the first in Jordan to be credentialed as a Fellow in Person-Centered Care (FPCC) by Planetree® International. Dr. Hamdan has many publications in indexed journals in critical care nursing, pain, chronic diseases, and other health-related issues.

He serves as the Co Chair of the SEHA Audiology Advisory committee and is member of the SEHA Allied Health Education Committee. He also serves as the Chair of the AHS Allied Health Education and Research subcommittee and was instrumental in the several educational initiative which include the first Allied Health Journal Club (via Webinar) which is ongoing since 2020 as well as the first Allied Health Conference (2020). Dr Snithin has served as the Chair of the Scientific Committee for 1st AHS Allied Health conference (2020) and 2nd AHS Allied Health Conference (2021). He has also served as the Scientific committee member for International conferences such as Dubai Otology -Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery Conference (2018 and 2019); 1st Allied Health Symposium (2018); and the 4th Abu Dhabi Ambulatory Healthcare International Congress (2022). Dr Snithin has been very keen on research and has presented at scientific sessions in numerous international and local conferences. He also serves as the Clinical Director for the Healthy Hearing Division of the Special Olympics UAE (from2017 till date) and has successfully provided the Hearing care services to Athletes during the Special Olympics MENA Games 2018 (Abu Dhabi) and the Special Olympics World Games 2019 (Abu Dhabi). Dr Snithin was honoured by the President of the UAE HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Bateen Palace for contributions towards successful Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019. Dr. Marie Kim James, DNP, MSN Ed., RN, NE-BC, CPHQ has over 25 years of experience in nursing with a strong background in quality improvement and accreditation. She is the Director of Nursing at the largest comprehensive nephrology services in the UAE. The services include inpatient and outpatient renal replacement therapies, paediatric nephrology, and specialized nephrology care for patients in the United Arab Emirates. She previously held the position of Manager, Quality and Performance Improvement at a tertiary academic medical center located in the United Arab Emirates and has worked in critical care, cardiac catheterization, perioperative services and inpatient units.
Dr. James graduated from Case Western Reserve University Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing in May 2020 with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership. She has a keen interest in quality improvement in the clinical practice and empowering nurses to use quality improvement, evidence-based nursing practices, and research in their practice.
Dr. James is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International since 2008, the American Nurses Association (ANA), the New Mexico State Nurse Association and the National Association of Healthcare. She holds board certifications in both Quality and Nursing Leadership.
Dr. Fariba Al-Darazi
Dr. Fariba A Al-Darazi, a Bahraini national, brings a wealth of experience to the table. She served as the former Coordinator of Health Workforce Development and Regional Adviser for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Personnel at the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, World Health Organization.
She was the first GCC national to obtain a Ph.D. in nursing. Dr Al-Darazi's contributions were recognised and celebrated. She was decorated by His Majesty King of Bahrain for Competence First Degree. She is a Supreme Council of Health member in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Recently, she has undertaken consultations in nursing, midwifery, and health workforce development at the national, regional and global levels. She is a member of several nursing and midwifery committees and boards at the national and regional levels.

Suhad was graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology and obtained a bachelor degree in Nursing Science; she got different advanced level Post graduate diploma certificates in diabetes education from Heinrich Hein University, Germany, the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, and Fatima College of Health Sciences in collaboration with Lund University and Malmo University Sweden.At SKMC, Suhad began her patient education journey as a Diabetes Nurse Educator and advocated for patients with diabetes of all ages. She was promoted to a clinical resource nurse position and led all diabetes education activities for nurses. At the present time, she holds the position of manager for nursing education.She led different programs/projects in SKMC such as the diabetes link nurses program and diabetes education workshops for all SKMC nurses and dieticians, she initiated the community awareness in SKMC and the initiative “SKMC, We Care”. We will not forget the community awareness programs during the world diabetes day recognition that Suhad led in SKMC since she started in 2000.
Currently, she leads the Professional Development Council for Pathway to Excellence at SKMC level. The responsibility of all nursing education programs lies with her and her team, starting from orientation to professional development and succession planning.
The SEHA Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Practice & Professional Development Committee and the SEHA Diabetes Education Advisory Group are under her leadership at SEHA level.
